Heritage Double Glazed Windows and Doors – Berkshire
“We were really impressed by the quality of the product and by the skill of the fitters.”
The Sash Window Workshop were contacted to replace 9 sets of casement windows and 2 French doors at a listed property in Berkshire.
Our sales surveyor met with the customer at their property to discuss their requirements and provide them with a free, no obligation quotation. When the order was placed, a second survey was carried out to confirm the exact details and drawings were sent to the customer for them to use as part of their planning application.
When planning permission and listed building consent had been obtained, the final details were reviewed to ensure that the new windows and doors aligned with the details stipulated by the planners. A high level of attention to detail was important to ensure that these requirements were met. The windows and doors were then manufactured by our craftsmen in our workshops in Bracknell, Berkshire.
Heritage double glazing had been approved for use on the new windows. Heritage units allow for double glazing to be used in listed properties, where permission is granted, by using a slim profile double glazed unit. Double glazing can sometimes be approved when the double glazing has a narrow profile and individual units are traditionally glazed with putty.
At The Sash Window Workshop, all our wooden windows and doors are made to measure. This allows us to manufacture bespoke timber windows and doors to meet the specific requirements imposed on listed buildings and in conservation areas.
The customer now has beautiful new timber windows and doors and is delighted with the work, commenting:
“We were really impressed by the quality of the product and by the skill of the fitters. They were polite, charming, very quick and very good at tidying up. Fantastic job and we already feel the benefit. Even the aircraft noise is barely discernible.”
The customer has since placed another order with us to replace the remaining casement windows at the property.
