A new exterior, renovation & extension to see this family through the years

This family needed a home that would be cosy for two and spacious enough for seven – it needed to see them through the ‘Uni’ years and beyond.

Looking at the finished home, you’d never guess the solution for this family was to renovate and extend a tired 1950s property from the inside out. By listening closely to this family’s needs, Absolute Architecture created a design that complemented their lifestyle now and in the long-term. We added much needed kerb appeal and popped in a central lightwell to banish corridors and free up space.

Location: Goring-on-Thames, Oxfordshire

Materials: The house received a completely new external skin with maintenance free render, aluminium trims, and Velfac windows. The lovely handmade clay tile roofs and cast aluminium guttering remove all traces of its 1950’s past.

Clever aspects: acoustic glass and a landscape baffle soundproof this property from nearby train noise. A rainwater harvesting tank ensures the garden stays fresh and lush year round.
